We offer a full travel vaccination service including Yellow Fever. We are a National Yellow Fever Vaccination Centre.
Ideally you should complete the travel questionnaire (see link below) about 8-12 weeks before your departure in case you need a course of injections.
Upon receipt of the form our practice nurses will review your records and will contact you in due course to advise on any necessary immunisations.
A form needs to be completed for each person travelling. This can be downloaded using the link below.
Immunisations such as Yellow Fever, Meningitis and Rabies although vital, are not available on the NHS and must be paid for privately. This is a Department of Health decision. Likewise anti-malarial tablets are not available on NHS prescription and must be paid for.
Malaria still claims many lives every year so please do not take any unnecessary risk! Please remember anti-malarial medication needs to be taken before and varying periods after return depending on the medication.
It is essential to minimise insect bites: use insect repellent and nets and cover up arms, feet and legs at dusk when the mosquitoes are most active.
Follow the nurses’ advice as to which immunisations and medications you may need for your specific destination.
Please note that you will have to pay for your vaccinations before they are administered. We now accept credit and debit cards in addition to cheques and cash. To view a copy of our fees please click on this link -

A useful website for travel information is www.fitfortravel.scot.nhs.uk
There is further information about countries and vaccinations required on the links below
Some travel vaccines are ordered on a private prescription and these incur a charge over and above the normal prescription charge. This is because not all travel vaccinations are included in the services provided by the NHS.
Travel Health Questionnaire
To help us offer the appropriate advice, please fill out the online form. Please give as much detailed information on the form as you can especially concerning the destinations that you will be visiting including specific areas within the country. It would also be very helpful if you could provide us with your mobile phone number and email address so that the Practice Nurse can contact you easily.
